Get Involved

The Special Populations & Issues Interest Group is always looking to expand its membership!  Whether you would simply agree to being listed on our Expert Resource List, or would like to be a more active member, there is a home for you at SPIIG!

We meet quarterly, more or less, and meetings last approximately two hours.  In the past we have met at various Denver-area libraries.  We are exploring solutions for accommodating statewide participation by providing online meetings, and archiving them for later viewing.

The group currently has several projects underway.  If you’re interested in helping with one or more of them, please go to our Contact Us tab that will show you a list of people you can contact.

Is SPIIG right for me?

Are you passionate about libraries serving a certain population?

Do you have tips and tricks for designing programming?

Do you need to complete a service learning project as a school requirement?

Do you have relationships with agencies in your neighborhood that serve certain populations?

Are you concerned that libraries aren’t providing equal access for everyone?

Look for meeting announcements on libnet, or check the website for meeting times, dates and locations.  We look forward to meeting you!
